Elena Ledesma Rashid

Elena Ledesma Rashid was born in Laredo, Texas and when she was a few months old, the Ledesma family moved back home to the Rio Grande Valley. Elena’s mother, Lila Ramirez Ledesma of Mission, and father, Robert Ledesma of Harlingen raised their three children in Mission, McAllen, Harlingen, and Austin. Because of this, Elena met many lifelong friends along the way. Lilia Gibson of New Braunfels, and Robert Ledesma of Mission are Elena’s siblings and best friends. Elena graduated from Mission High School in 1991. She graduated from The University of Texas – Pan American with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science and minors in English and Psychology. Elena was also a member of the first Law School Prep Institute (LSPI) at the UT-Pan American, under the direction of Dr. Polinard. Although studying law peeked Elena’s interest at that time, her life path brought her to what is her happiness today. Elena met Dr. Shahid Rashid in 1999 and they married in 2005. Together they enjoy six beautiful children: Sulaiman, Sana, Noor, Iman, Ismail, and Rania. Elena helped to establish South Texas Clinic for Pain Management, P.A. from its inception with Dr. Rashid and continues to help it grow. Over the years, Elena has helped expand several clinic locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley and Texas. Women supporting and empowering other women has always been a priority for Elena Ledesma Rashid.
