Karla Garza

Karla Garza was born and raised in Brownsville, TX. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School. She is the CEO Of VMK Materials, Vice President of VMK Concrete, and owner of Valley Asphalt. Together with her husband, Victor Garza, the VMK series of companies has grown to 7 companies and continues to expand across the Rio Grande Valley and Texas. Her career began in 2010 with PepsiCo managing large businesses, teams and operations for the Fortune 500 company across Texas. During her time at PepsiCo she received national awards such as Hispanic Emerging Leaders and was recognized as a Top Latina talent. In 2017, Karla and her husband began VMK Materials in Mission Tx which is set to grow in 2023 to 3 locations. Karla enjoys giving back to the Rio Grande Valley community she was born and raised in through scholarships and actively volunteering with the Junior League of McAllen. Karla is passionate about giving back to first generation college students in the RGV who will be attending major universities and will hopefully return like her to grow and make a difference in their community.
