HWNT-RGV “Lady in Red” Scholarship Gala was created for the women of the Rio Grande Valley to have an opportunity to give back to the next generation of Latina leaders in a fun and unique way! The proceeds from this program will provide the financial foundation of the Latinas in Progress Scholarship program, which is why our Ladies in Red are also known as Madrinas. Nominees for Lady in Red should be women who are considered innovators and advocates for issues relating to women. These women should exhibit a commitment and passion to community and public service. Nominees should be supportive of the HWNT mission and exhibit the qualities of advocacy, education, professional development, and philanthropy. They should be willing to invest in our future generation of Latina leaders by committing to make a monetary donation of $1,000.00. Each Lady in Red will be recognized at the April 2024 Lady in Red Scholarship Gala and be part of a "Passion Show" (as a Fashion Show) to celebrate our Madrinas and display their passion for empowering the next generation of Latina leaders!
